1.2 Renters
LetzGo Carsharing is Luxembourg's first peer-to-peer carsharing platform! Our goal is to make mobility accessible from anywhere in the country by providing nationwide car sharing services. We prioritize our customers, including loyal car owners and individuals seeking a nearby, quick, cost-saving, and flexible vehicle option. Our motto: Creating a win-win for all participants in the LetzGo Carsharing network.
To achieve this, every car must be treated with respect, as if it were your own. While unforeseen events can occur, our service provides comprehensive insurance free of charge.
Please always read and follow our Respect Rules for renters and owners, as well as our FAQ and troubleshooter guides, to avoid additional costs. Car owners and your wallet will thank you!
Important! Accidents can become expensive. For vehicle immobilization during repairs, €25 will be charged from the second day of immobilization for each additional day (max. 5 days).
The LetzGo Carsharing Assistance service is solely for accidents and breakdowns.
The LetzGo Carsharing Helpline is only for exceptional cases not covered on our website’s Help Center or FAQs. Repeated unnecessary calls may be charged.

2. Pricing and Invoicing
2.1 Prices, KM Packages, Add-ons
Our primary goal is to ensure customer satisfaction and provide a premium experience with no hidden costs or unpleasant surprises. To this end, we’ve created this guide to inform customers about all possible costs and to explain how invoices are structured. Afterward, it is up to the customer to act according to their preferences.
During booking, the renter has different Packages and options to choose from:
- Prices
Pay only for the duration and distance of your ride
- KM Package
Pay less, drive more
Instead of paying every km individually, get one of our KM Packs that fit every need.
These measures aim to avoid unnecessary mileage, benefiting both the environment and the renter's wallet while minimizing wear and tear on the owner’s vehicle. Any additional kilometers beyond the KM package are billed separately.
- Add-ons (Extra-Options)
Pay only what you need
Maximum Rental Duration:
7 days. Extensions may be requested via email to contact@letzgo-carsharing.lu and must be approved.
Reservation Limit:
Up to 10 consecutive hours. Rentals exceeding this limit are automatically charged the daily rate (24h).
Fuel and maintenance: Always included in the price!
Mileage Calculation:
Mileage is only calculated after the trip starts and includes the distance from departure to the agreed return point. Refunds for unused kilometers below the package allowance are not permitted.
2.1 Invoicing for Renters
How is a LetzGo rental billed?
Our invoice for renters is structured as follows:
- Rental price (hr/day)
- Every individual kilometer, OR km package price
- Deposit (1700€ or 1000€, refunded after the ride if no damage occurs)
Our kilometer packages go from 20km to 100km per booking. Every km over that package gets billed additionally to the booked price.
Additional charges may apply for:
- Selected options: full mobility protection, deposit reduction.
- Extra kilometers beyond the KM package limit
- "Respect fees" for rule violations
- Deposit deduction after an incident
Deposit is 1700€, or 1000€ with deposit reduction option. The deposit is deducted at the moment you can click start your ride, 5 minutes before the start time. The minimal deposit amount necessary to start the ride is always 1000€. It serves as a proof of funds insurance for our service. Always have enough capital and limit on your card before starting a ride! In case your limits are too low, and you can’t start your ride, there will be no refunds. The reserved time and options chosen will be deducted from your account.
A couple days after your ride, the charged amount of the deposit will be refunded to your account. In case of an incident during the ride, the costs will be charged from your bank account once they have been calculated (~14 days), up to maximum the limit of your deposit option.
The amount of your reservation and chosen options will be debited from your account/card before the rental. All possible additional costs, such as additional kilometers or penalty fees, will be debited within a maximum of 14 days after your trip. You can find the details of your rides under your rental history in the app. Invoices for extra costs resulting from a breakdown/accident/other incidents will be sent to you by email.
Example Deposit Reduction Option activated:
Accident/Breakdown:
- Example 1:
The repair costs amount, after precise analysis according to our insurance, is €3500. You pay a maximum of €1000. Not more, not less.

- If the option is not activated, you always pay a maximum of €1700.

- €15/month: Available for more than 21 days per month.
Initial Network Stability:
To ensure a stable carsharing network during the launch phase, only owners offering their vehicles for more than 21 days per month will be accepted in the first months. These owners also receive the first two months free of charge. Afterward, €15 per month will be automatically debited from the owner’s bank account.

Owner Earnings:
Owners receive 60% of the rental price for each successfully completed rental, 40% go to LetzGo. Owners must declare this income to the Luxembourg tax authorities in compliance with tax regulations. LetzGo assumes no liability for failure to comply with this requirement.

You can either cancel and ask for a refund, be offered a replacement car or will be transported to your desired destination via a transport method of our choice (depending on chosen options).

Is there a mileage limit?
No. There is no limit on mileage per booking.

1. Return the vehicle to its parking area (return location), all windows closed.

- Report any damage in the app. Optional OR mandatory only if damage occurred during your rental.

In your booking, you can always see the refueling/charging rules associated with the vehicle. You do not have to refuel the vehicle after every trip.

Check the return address of your reservation in the app.
Only if it is a whole parking area, like a village or city, can the vehicle be parked anywhere in that area, maybe even at your doorstep! Otherwise, park at the return address.
You may ask if you can return the car to another address within the same village. But it must be approved first.

5.2 Conditions for Owners
The insurance coverage may be void if:
- The host fails to correctly verify the renter’s documents as outlined in the rental contract
- The host makes false claims to the insurance (e.g., reporting damage that did not occur during a rental). Thanks to our software data, we can always prove what happened during a rental (sensor data, trip logs, photo evidence, etc.)
- The host fails to report an incident within 5 working days

We recommend contacting your insurance company before registering your vehicle with Letzgo Carsharing to confirm that your policy allows carsharing. If an incident occurs during a rental, our comprehensive insurance will cover the damage.
Managing Your Private Insurance When Renting Out a Vehicle Through Letzgo Carsharing
With our carsharing insurance, you, your vehicle, and any involved third parties are fully insured. Our towing/mobility protection is also always included.
We recommend informing your private insurance provider that you are sharing your vehicle via Letzgo Carsharing. This ensures that your provider allows such use and helps prevent potential issues in advance.
If any event occurs during one of your rentals, you are always fully covered by our comprehensive insurance.
You may not cancel your private insurance, even if you only use your vehicle for rentals!
Your insurance certificate and all other documents (technical inspection, registration papers, etc.) must always be available in the vehicle, e.g., in case of a police check.
You cannot opt out of our insurance, even if your own insurance allows sub-rental. Otherwise, you are not allowed to rent your vehicle through Letzgo Carsharing. Our insurance is automatically activated for each rental.
What if my current insurance policy has a mileage limit?
No problem – just make sure your rentals don’t cause you to exceed that limit during the year.
However, check with your insurance or leasing provider in advance to avoid complications!
If your provider forbids rentals via Letzgo Carsharing and you rent out your vehicle anyway, we are not responsible for any disputes or issues with your provider.
Recommendations:
- Confirm with your insurance provider that carsharing is permitted under your policy.
- LetzGo’s comprehensive insurance covers all incidents during rentals, including third-party liability and roadside assistance.
Important Notes:
- Owners must retain their personal insurance policy, even if the car is used exclusively for rentals.
- The vehicle’s insurance certificate must always be in the car, e.g., for police inspections.
- LetzGo’s insurance is automatically activated for every rental, and opting out is not permitted.
Mileage Limitations:
- If your personal insurance has a mileage cap, ensure your rentals do not exceed it. Consult your provider to avoid complications.
6. Additional Terms
Fees and Penalties
The LetzGo concept relies on mutual respect between renters and owners. To maintain this standard, penalties may be applied for violations of the Respect Rules, which form part of our fundamental guidelines.
Examples of fees include:
- Late Return Fees: Charged if the vehicle is not returned on time.
- Cleaning Fees: Applied if vehicles are returned in an excessively dirty condition.
